My Story
I spent eight years in commercial real estate finance. Long hours, ten-buck salads at my desk, gym membership I used four times a year. By the time I hit 32, I was up forty pounds, my back hurt, and I was borrowing my buddy's CPAP on weekend trips.
I started lifting because a doctor told me to. Three days a week, barely an hour each. The first six weeks were ugly. The next six were less ugly. A year later I'd lost the weight, fixed my back, and — for the first time since college — I actually liked how I felt.
I got certified mostly so I could stop annoying my friends with unsolicited advice. Then I started coaching one of them. Then five. Then I quit my job. That was twelve years ago.
Today I work with people who don't have unlimited time and don't want to lie about it. We build programs around your real week — the travel, the kids' soccer schedule, the 7 a.m. meetings — and we make them work.
Twelve years of coaching boiled down to the principles I refuse to compromise on.
Three workouts a week for a year beats six workouts a week for two months.
If you can't squat, deadlift, press, and pull, the rest is decoration.
Big four lifts. No fluff.
Not the other way around. An okay workout you'll finish beats a perfect one you'll skip.
No cleanses. No 21-day transformations. If something works, I'll tell you. If it doesn't, I'll tell you that too.
Direct feedback. Always.
I live in Denver with my wife Erin and a golden retriever named Murphy who thinks every visitor is here for him.
Same court, same crew, every week.
Erin tolerates it. Murphy doesn't drink it.
